Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jimmy moved to Orange County to attend the University of California, Irvine where he decided to focus his first two years of college on his academics before taking on the role of a management trainee intern for Enterprise in Newport Beach in the Winter of 2006. 

During his last year of college, Jimmy Cusimano wanted to find an opportunity that would allow him to nest with a company that he felt he would fit in with long-term; He came across the internship opportunity with Northwestern Mutual in the Spring of 2007 and became a college intern at the age of 21.

Jimmy Cusimano graduated from the University of California, Irvine in the Summer of 2008 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Cognitive Psychology and a minor in Business Management. He then decided to accept the full-time Financial Representative position offered to him in October of 2008.

Jimmy Cusimano was appointed as the College Unit Director from 2009-2010 and was in charge of developing the internship program in the network office. He became a Field Director in 2011 and is currently serving in that role assisting newer full-time representatives transition into the business while maintaining his personal practice as well.
